[W15] Win or Lose, you'll still be a goose

Rejoice in Glory

In our last devlog, we showed you that the game kept track of the number of mobs that had been slain by our mighty heroes. However, even when all the creatures were dead, nothing happened... no fanfare, no prize, not even a pat on the back! That's rather unfair, wouldn't you agree?

That's no longer the case! Now, the game recognises the efforts of the players and congratulates them with a very grey super rewarding win screen! You can see a picture below.

You can also watch the following video to see the win condition being triggered.

As you may have noticed, the players do not need to slay all the mobs in order to win. For now, killing only 3 is enough. We plan on including a UI element to inform the players the exact number of creatures that need to be wiped out to succeed.

Memento Mori

It is said that mortality is the only certainty in life... well, apparently that was not the case for our heroes (oops™). Even when their health bars reached zero, they could carry on running around. Sadly, all that lives and thrives must also wither and die1. So, from this release, the death of all the heroes triggers the lose condition, which is promptly informed to the players with a sad «You lost» screen. Below, you can see an animation of a player dying very slowly and very dramatically.

Also, when mobs kill a player, they stop attacking and start looking for new victims. You can watch all these mechanics in the following video.

Credits

Last but not least, our game would have turned out very differently without the amazing assets kindly provided for free by analogStudios_Luiz MeloDeep Dive Game Studio and Vina. We'd like to give them a heartfelt thank you, and express our admiration for their talent and willingness to share their creations with the community.

A credits screen has been added to the game, which is automatically shown after the win and lose screens. A silly surprise is waiting for you in that screen, so we won't include pictures or videos. We encourage you to try the latest build ;P

That's all for now, folks. Thank you very much for reading. We hope to bring you more news soon.

1That's a Diablo lore reference :P
